What do you know, it’s November already — 2020 has been such a wild ride for us and our community in Seminyak, as we adapt to everything that the pandemic throws at us. Although cancelled plans have been a common theme this year, the Indonesian government is now allowing domestic travel between provinces.
So we are greeting special guests from all over Indonesia. If you are an Indonesian citizen, or Expat living in Indonesia, reading this, then we’d like to say: Salam dari Seminyak, semoga rencana liburan akhir tahun lancar dan sampai jumpa di Bali!
Of course, your vacation in Bali this time will be a little different from your usual. You probably won’t be island-hopping this year (hopefully you can visit Nusa Penida next time, though!) and you may limit yourself to traveling just within a small area.
But at least you’re in Bali, and there is no better place to go on a staycation than in Seminyak. Here are some staycation ideas if you are staying with us at The Colony Hotel.
1. Enjoy Petitenget Beach
From our hotel, we recommend a nice 10-minute walk to Petitenget beach in the morning. Petitenget Beach has plenty of space, allowing you to social distance. You’ll also get plenty of morning sunlight to stay healthy and energized.
If you enjoy a swim, consider the beach yours. It’s difficult to bump into other people as the island of Bali is seeing significantly less visitors than normal. Experience Bali like never before.
2. Admire Masceti Temple
Remember your last visit to Tanah Lot temple? It was probably difficult to take a good photo in such a crowded, far-away place. Luckily, Seminyak has its own temple, the Masceti Temple, for you to appreciate at close up. It’s also within walking distance from The Colony Hotel.
It is an important landmark in Seminyak, and definitely bigger than your household shrine. On your staycation, you may even visit this temple multiple times. You may discover new details that you’ve missed on your last visit to the temple. So be present at the moment, and enjoy the view.
3. Enjoy the food
A vacation is not about how many kinds of foods and restaurants that you’ve tried. It’s about knowing the best places to get them. Fortunately, Seminyak is a center of excellent cuisine. From the mighty sunset bars to the humble warung babi guling, you’ll never run out of ideas for where to eat next in Seminyak.
4. Stay up and stay in
Staying late in bed is the new cool in 2020. If you prefer to stay inside and self-quarantine in style, you’ll enjoy our Seminyak boutique hotel. You can find a lot of facilities for your enjoyment — the lobby and pool restaurant, the gym, the gardens by the pool, and of course, your very own room.
Your room has all the necessities. If you want to enjoy a late-night movie with your partner, we have large screen TVs in every room. Want to fill the room with your favorite beats and melodies? Plugin your iPhone and deliver your music to the speakers. You can order food and even a massage treatment, without ever leaving the room. Just ask your personal butler and he or she will be at your service right away.
Keep your eyes peeled for irresistible special offers on our official website.
