More and more digital nomads are moving to Bali every year. This holiday island is becoming more than just a week stay. Its all-year-long beautiful weather, beautiful beaches, cheaper cost of living, and delicious cuisine makes Bali a heavenly destination for digital nomads to find the right balance of work and play. Being a digital nomad in Bali is pretty easy as there are numerous choices of where to stay and where to work as well as wide opportunities to network with others seeking a digital nomad lifestyle.
Before settling in and finding your rhythm in this island, there are a few things you need to know when moving to Bali. Here are some travel tips that you should consider.
1. Getting your visa
If you’re traveling around the world and will only be in Bali for a short period of time, then the Tourist Visa can be the most suitable option. Not only it is easy to get, the tourist visa allows you to stay for 30 days in Bali and can be extended for another 30 days. If you are thinking to stay longer, then probably you should apply for the Social Cultural Visa. This visa will let you stay up to 6 months.
2. Finding a place to stay
It’s pretty easy as the island caters all budget options. Whether you want to spoil yourself in a luxury villa or even share a room with another digital nomad, all is possible in Bali. Recently, more and more coworking spaces are blooming and they also offer coliving spaces. Most opt to coliving as it provides convenience and networking opportunities. You can work and stay all in one place.
3. Finding a place to work
Finding a place to work should not be a problem. Wherever you decide to stay, there will be many selections of cafes offering free wifi, comfortable seating, and great coffee. As an alternative, you can also choose to work at coworking spaces that normally have desks, private meeting rooms, and regular events or workshops dedicated for digital nomads.
4. Getting around Bali
The easiest way to commute around Bali is by a scooter. Make sure you have an international license as a national license isn’t enough. Although you may see people scooting around the island without a helmet, you should always use one on.
If you are still settling in Bali as a digital nomad, you are more than welcome to stay at The Colony Hotel. Our accommodation is situated in the heart of Seminyak with close proximity to a handful of stylish cafes!
